Author Kathi Oates and her husband Gary have been in pastoral ministry for over thirty years. Kathi has a powerful itinerant inner healing and prophetic ministry.
The opening sentence of the book “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent Me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to captives, and freedom to prisoners” from Isaiah 61:1 brought immediate conviction. How many times have we read that scripture and jumped from “to bring good news” to “To proclaim liberty to captives” and completely missed “to bind up the broken hearted”? I for one was one of those guilty ones.
