Heal Our Land

Born Again Buildings

The Hope Centre, Aintree

In October 2008 Old Roan Baptist Church purchased the vacant Holy Rosary Infants School.

Monsignor John Butchard, the priest at the Holy Rosary Church,  was happy for us to take over the building because he knew us well.  The building was run down as the school had been planning to move for some time, so work started immediately  on improvements. Fundraising was successful for the first two phases (new wings for children’s and youth work) and these were completed in time for the celebration of our first year anniversary recently. The plans were designed to make sure that the building is flexible and as multifunctional as possible.

Our two children and youth clubs now have brand new rooms with modern facilities. The rest of the building is already in use with by both church and community with offices and meeting rooms, where we have held counselling, conferences, courses, and a coffee lounge, all of which we continue to develop as God supplies our needs. In our planning, we aim achieve a balance of use to ensure the ministry of the church comes first. We continue our good relationship with The Holy Rosary Church who use our facilities for occasions such as Holy Communion celebrations, P.T.A events and scout activities. This practical working together is important to us and is of considerable benefit to the wider Aintree community. Long may it continue.
