The4points Easter campaign is over, but the mission goes on!
By Dave Sharples
This year we had well over 100 churches promoting the gospel and the date of Easter Sunday across Liverpool, the Wirral, Sheffield, Saint Helens and Runcorn. There were four sports outreaches where we shared the gospel with nearly 10,000 people alone, there were many other local outreaches across the region through participating churches.
One church leader said it was the most people they’ve ever had at an Easter Sunday service, while others reported, seeing many more people being confident to share the good news of Jesus.
We had a trainers event in January to equip and train over 100 people who are now in a position to train others in evangelism.
At one of the sports outreaches, 90% of people that were offered a prayer card took one! We literally couldn’t fold them quick enough to give out.
After having the gospel explained to him, one young man then started to explain it in turn to his friend. The person who originally gave out the prayer card couldn’t believe how effortlessly and clearly he passed on the good news, saying, “He did it even better than me and I’ve been in full time ministry for years!” The simple message of the cross explained in everyday language. Praise God.
Another lady, who works as a teaching assistant, reported children in her school enthusiastically explaining the symbols on her wristband after seeing them on buses! They continued having gospel conversations well after the campaign ended.
As summer approaches, churches continue to plan local outreaches using THE4POINTS to explain the gospel in a simple and memorable way.
May God, who is able to do far more than we can ask or imagine, receive all the glory!
